JAMMU, Oct 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today ordered that nine offices under the Home Department including Police Headquarters along with other associated offices will function simultaneously at both Srinagar and Jammu.

An order to this effect was issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Chandraker Bharti.
It may be mentioned here that the Omar Abdullah Government has ordered Darbar Move, a practice which was stopped by the LG administration in 2021.
However, the Home Department falls under control of the Lieutenant Governor.
“In view of ensuing winter season 2025-26, it is hereby ordered that nine Subordinate Offices of Home Department shall function simultaneously at both Srinagar and Jammu,” the Home Department order read.
The offices include Police Headquarters along with other associated offices, Prison Headquarters, Directorate of Prosecution, Police Housing Corporation, Headquarters of Homeguards, Civil Defence & SDRF, Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Directorate of Sainik Welfare Department and Directorate of Defence Labour Procurement.
“The Heads of Departments shall make equitable arrangements for availability of officers/officials at both Srinagar and Jammu offices,” the order said.
