Thieves held, stolen property recovered

JAMMU, Nov 12: Police in Bathindi area here today claimed that they have arrested two alleged thieves and recovered a stolen motorcycle, three gas cylinders, and a motor from their possession.
A police official said on November 3, 2025, one Ayaz Ansari of Hazari Bagh, Jharkhand at present Malik Market, Jammu, lodged a written complaint stating therein that an unknown person had stolen his motorcycle (JK02DF-9326) from the front of his rented accommodation at Malik Market.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 316/2025 under section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation taken up.
During the course of the investigation, the police official added that two suspects, identified as Sahil Kumar and Ajay Kumar, both brothers from Bhagwati Nagar area of the district, presently residing at Chak Vijaypur, Tehsil and District Samba, were apprehended.
During sustained questioning, the siblings confessed their involvement in the theft and one their disclosure, the stolen motorcycle, three gas cylinders and a motor, were recovered from their possession, he said.
Subsequently, the investigation was concluded and a charge sheet was produced against the accused individuals before the court for judicial determination, he said.
