UDHAMPUR, Nov 18: Inner Wheel District Chairman Preeti Khajuria organized a mega health camp at the Government Higher Secondary School in Pancheri, where hundreds of people benefited from free checkups and consultations.
Patients were provided with free checkups, treatment, and medicines worth lakhs of rupees all under one roof for various ailments. Senior physicians examined and consulted patients on their eyes, teeth, blood sugar, and blood pressure.
This camp, organized by Preeti Khajuria in Udhampur, was a success in collaboration with the Rotary Eye Hospital and the District Administration. Near-vision glasses were provided to nearly 100 people, and 65 cataract patients were identified. They were called to Udhampur with convenient dates and their operations will be done free of cost at the Rotary Eye Hospital.
Preeti Khajuria explained that these camps are especially important for those who live in remote areas or lack the resources to afford expensive healthcare. Additionally, these camps provide an opportunity to consult with expert doctors and help with early diagnosis and prevention of illnesses, she added.
At the Pancheri health camp, some patients learned about their health issues for the first time and received information on disease prevention. Patients from villages such as Badota, Sadota, Kultiyar, Latiyar, Katti, Mir, Patti, Pangara, Ladda, Panjar, Lali, Karcha, and Kenthakali attended the camp.
Inner Wheel members Raman Sharma, Mohini Baigra, Neelam Gupta, Usha Kiran, and Sushma Gupta were also present. The team of doctors included Dr Vijay Kumar, Dr Rahul Jandayal, Dr Praveen Kumar, Dr Kanika, Dr Isha, Dr Raghu, and dental surgeon Dr Vishwas Mahajan.
Rotary Hospital team members included Munish Kumar (Project Coordinator), Navneet Kumar (Ophthalmologist), Abhinav Gupta (Vision Technician), Ashish Sharma (Project Supervisor), Munesh Sharma (Driver), and Rahul Kumar (Vision Technician).
