JAMMU, Nov 18: GGM Science College lifted the Inter-Collegiate Cricket (Men) Tournament organized by the Cluster University of Jammu for the session 2025-26. The final match was played at GGM Science College Cricket Ground. Dr. (Prof.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the college, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
The tournament was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director Physical Education & Sports, Cluster University of Jammu. He appreciated Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma, I/C Physical Director, GGM Science College, for hosting the event after a long gap and in a well-organized manner. Dr. Bakshi also emphasized the commitment of Vice Chancellor, Dr. K. S. Chandrasekar, towards improving sports infrastructure across the university.
In the final, GGM Science College won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 123 runs in 19.4 overs with Mohd. Shahryar contributing 28 runs. In response, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce was bowled out for 112 runs in 18.1 overs. For GGM Science College, Ritam Charak claimed 4 wickets, while Sujal Sharma and Gourav Singh took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Ritam Charak, with 18 runs and 4 wickets, was declared Man of the Match.
Prof. M.S. Saini, Prof. Bandan Sharma, Prof. Chaman Lal, Neenu Sahwney, Physical Director Govt. MAM College, Ravi Kumar, Physical Director Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Raman Karalia, Physical Director GCOE Jammu, Kajal Premi, Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar, Prof. Varun Arya, Prof. Muzzafar Ahmad Sheikh, Dr. Bilal Ahmed Malla (P.T.I.) GGM Science College were among the present on the occasion. The match was officiated by Dayal Singh & Arjun Khajuria. Scorer was Puran Raina.
