JAIPUR, Nov 23: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today accused the opposition Congress of creating hurdles to good initiatives, including the Anti Conversion Law, being taken by the ruling NDA dispensation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national interest.
Dhami, who was on a visit to the pilgrim city Pushkar to attend a function of the Uttarakhand Dharmashala (rest house), made the above accusation in response to a newsman’s query about writ petitions filed in the Supreme Court against passage of the Anti-Conversion law in some states, including Rajasthan.
The visiting CM claimed, “Those who have been indulging in the appeasement politics for many decades are behind these obstructive tactics.
They have been trying to block – obstruct or at least cause hindrances for all those good work which should have been done soon after the Independence. Since those were not done earlier, now PM ModiJi has been doing it, that good work is not being relished by that party and their leaders.”
However, the people of the country have understood their intent and are now familiar of their tactics, he said and observed that is why they (Congress) are being rejected by the people.
“In the recent assembly polls in Bihar, they have been defeated. Earlier, in the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections too, they were rejected by the voters,” he said.
Uttarakhand CM Dhami has hailed the performance of the two-year-old Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government in Rajasthan.
