JAMMU, NOV 26: Seven days long exhibition of 400 wildlife paintings made by the students of j&k ut began today at the Kala Kendra, Jammu. PCCF/Chief Wildlife Warden, Sarvesh Rai, IFS, inaugurated this exhibition by cutting off ribbon. On this occasion Janab Javed Rahi, secretary Kala Kendra Jammu,
Trishla Kundal, special secretary, culture, and Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, assistant director of Archives, Archaeology were present.
The exhibition was organised by “The Himalayan Avian” in collaboration with the Kala Kendra, Jammu, and the Wildlife Protection Department, Jammu and Kashmir. Wildlife paintings displayed at the Kala Kendra are part of the Wildlife Painting Competition 2025. The inaugural event was attended by school students, including mv international school, citizens and local residents.
The students depicted Jammu and Kashmir’s precious wildlife, birds of wetland in their paintings. Most of the students depicted birds visiting the gharana wetland and bhullar lake . Chief guest, Sarvesh Rai, appreciated the work and took a long time to witness the paintings. Guldev Raj, organiser, who is also a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Wildlife Board, gave details of this exhibition and wildlife painting competition 2025. He told this year, 1,700 students participated in the wildlife painting competition. Now 150 students will be honored for their best painting work at the awards ceremony to be organised in the month of december. Wildlife warden Amit Sharma, Prof Ashok Kumar, Social Worker Amit Jain, famous writer Sheik Mohd Kalyan were presented.prof Ashok Kumar presented vote of thanks.
