JAMMU, Nov 30: STC Jammu emerged champions of the Senior UT Basketball Championship 2025 in the Men’s section after registering a dominant 93-57 victory over District Samba in the final. In the Women’s section, STC Women finished as runners-up, putting up a spirited fight before losing 37-47 to Reasi Women.
In the semifinals, STC outplayed Pulwama by 73-58, while Samba edged past J&K Police by 74-66, with both matches witnessing intense competition and strong performances from all teams. The men’s final saw STC execute excellent teamwork, sharp outside shooting, and superior physical fitness. Although the experienced Samba side stayed competitive until the third quarter, STC’s fast-paced play in the final period sealed the victory.
The championship matches were officiated by referees Manoj Kumar, Harpreet Singh, Vineet Pangotra, Rajesh Bandral and Mayank Bali.
The former Mayor of Jammu Rajinder Sharma presided over the final as chief guest and presented trophies to the winners and runners-up. Prominent officials, including Iqbal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (Jammu) and Arshi Nad, Manager Indoor Complex, were present. JKBA thanked the J&K Sports Council for its support in organising the event.
