SOLAN, Nov 30: Marking an important milestone in its mission to provide flexible, inclusive and high-quality online education, Shoolini University (SU) today held its first convocation for its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE).
Dr R C Sobti, former Vice Chancellor of Panjab University and BBAU Lucknow, was the chief guest.
The event began with a dignified academic procession led by the band of Shanti Niketan Child Home, Subathu, adding grandeur and cultural vibrance to the celebration.
Prof Amar Raj Singh Suri, Director, SCDOE, welcomed the gathering and presented the centre report, vision and mission.
In his address he said, “This is a celebration of flexible, boundary less education that is transforming lives.”
Suri highlighted that SCDOE was established in 2022 and in just three years has grown impressively to serve over 11,000 learners from diverse backgrounds, including rural, urban and metro regions, IAS officers, executives, teachers and international students.
He said, “SCDOE now offers leading online programmes, including MBA, MA English literature, MCA, MSc Data Science, B.Com honours, BBA, BCA, MAJMC, with BA to be launched soon.”
SCDOE has gained international acclaim by earning a Silver Rating in the Times Higher Education Online Learning Rankings (OLR) 2024), placing it among the top 25 online learning institutions worldwide.
Combined with Shoolini University’s NAAC A+ accreditation, this achievement reaffirms the University’s leadership in world-class digital education.
Chief guest Dr Sobti spokes on SDGs, sustainability and the transformative power of education, praising Shoolini University and its dedicated educators for their commitment to quality learning.
Prof Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor SU, inspired the audience with four powerful stories, drawing lessons from Chancellor Prof P K Khosla, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Nobel Laureate Dr Robert Huber and Steve Jobs, emphasising courage, big dreams, perseverance and risk-taking.
In the Vote of Thanks, Prof Ashish Khosla, acknowledged all contributors and congratulated the graduates for their achievements.
Ashok Anand, Satish Anand, Saroj Khosla, Prof Sunil Puri, Prof Vishal Anand, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SU also joined online and congratulated the graduates.
