JAMMU, Dec 1: The Union Civil Aviation Ministry today said that it has received proposals from Star Air to operate flights from Udhampur Airport to Hindon, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad, while no airline has so far submitted a proposal to operate flights from Kishtwar airport.
The Ministry said both the airports are currently included in the tentative list of “unserved airstrips” under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), UDAN.

“Bids have already been received from Star Air to operate flights from Udhampur to Hindon in Uttar Pradesh, Jaipur in Rajasthan, and Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Preliminary feasibility assessments indicate that developing a civil enclave at Udhampur is possible, but it will require regulatory clearances and availability of suitable land,” the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol said in reply to the maiden unstarred question of BJP MP from Jammu, Sat Sharma today.
Sharma had sought details about the proposed inclusion of the Udhampur and Kishtwar airports under the UDAN 5.0 scheme, feasibility and timeline of land assessment for the twin airports, and findings of the Ministry in this regard, besides details regarding sanctioning of new regional routes from Jammu Airport during 2025.
Regarding the proposed Kishtwar airport, the Union Minister said that no airline has so far submitted any proposal to operate flights under the UDAN scheme from Kishtwar.
He, however, clarified that revival or upgradation of airports under UDAN is taken up only when a valid bid is received and awarded.
“If airlines propose routes from Kisthwar in future bidding rounds, the Ministry will examine them as per the scheme guidelines,” he clarified.
On new regional routes from Jammu Airport, the Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol said that the Jammu-Kullu-Jammu route has been awarded to Alliance Air under the UDAN 5.3 bidding round, paving the way for fresh regional connectivity in 2025.
