SAMBA, Dec 2: An exhibition “Silent Heritage, Speaking Faces” by Ravinder Singh Jamwal was today inaugurated at the 300 year old Shri Abhimukteshwar Ji Shiv Temple (Uttarbahini), popularly known as Chhota Kashi.
The event was inaugurated by senior BJP leader, former Minister and Trustee of Dharmarth Trust, Ajatshatru Singh.
During the ceremony, Singh met students, elders and other attendees, engaging in warm conversation and praising their effort to reconnect with Dogra heritage, culture and languages.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “The main objective of this exhibition is to connect generations and explore our heritage, which is unfortunately dying. That is why we chose this sacred temple rather than a crowded venue, to let the ancient stones speak.”
Jamwal, who curated the exhibition, added “The sculptures are made up of paper, especially waste paper and we can make our heritage more vibrant by it. By repurposing everyday material, we breathe new life into the past and show that art can be both sustainable and deeply rooted in our culture.”
The exhibition, held in the historic precincts of Uttarbahini, aims to bridge history and contemporary expression, inviting visitors to experience heritage through the lens of modern paper sculpture.
