ADG BRO reviews key road projects across Pir Panjal

RAJOURI, Dec 2: In a comprehensive three-day tour, Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Additional Director General (North- West), SP Kolipey, conducted an extensive review of major road infrastructure projects across Rajouri, Reasi, and Poonch districts.
He was accompanied by Chief Engineer Project Sampark, Brig RK. Mishra, the Commander 31 BRTF (GREF) Rajouri, Akhilesh Kumar and Officers Commanding the units overseeing the projects.
The ADG inspected ongoing works on the Budhal-Mahore-Gool road, the Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote road, the NH-144A stretch from Akhnoor to Rajouri-Poonch, as well as key bridges and tunnel construction sites.
During the visit, Addl DG BRO closely examined the progress, quality and adherence to project timelines, issuing directions to expedite construction, address landslide-prone sections, and ensure robust safety measures for commuters.
Emphasizing the importance of timely completion, the ADG directed all the concerned agencies to resolve challenges such as land acquisition, forest clearance, and removal of obstructing structures. He also highlighted strict compliance with quality standards and safety protocols, particularly on widening and tunnel works along NH-144A.
The ADG noted that the successful execution of these projects would significantly enhance connectivity and boost socio-economic development in the Rajouri, Reasi, and Poonch districts of Pir Panjal region.
