SRINAGAR, Dec 3: A two-day Pahari Literary and Cultural Programme was organised by the Pahari section of the J&K Cultural Academy at Town hall Lagama in Uri area of Baramulla district today.
A number of Pahari writers, Poets and intellectuals participated in the programme that was inaugurated by chief guest on the occasion, MLA Uri, Dr Sajad Shafi.
The MLA highlighted the contribution of his Government for promotion of Pahari language and culture. He appealed J&K Cultural Academy to conduct more programmes like this in sub division Uri. He highlighted the significance of preserving and promoting Pahari language and culture.
The DDC Boniyar Mohammad Ismail Khan appealed to present Govt to fill up all vacancies in J&K Cultural Academy.
The event, themed around the promotion of Pahari literature and heritage, witnessed enthusiastic participation from writers, scholars, students and cultural enthusiasts.
