RAJOURI, Dec 3: In a significant action against drug-trafficking, Manjakote Police today apprehended a drug-peddler and recovered a sizeable quantity of contraband during checking in the area.
Reports said a police team led by SHO Manjakote, Inspector Imran Khan today intercepted a suspicious person during a naka at Manjakote town. He was identified as Mohd Irfan Khan, son of Kabir Hussain, a resident of Kalali, Tehsil Manjakote.
During the personal search of the accused, the police recovered about 3-4 grams of heroin (chitta) and 10 strips (100 capsules) of Pregabalin, a psychotropic substance frequently misused as an intoxicant.
Following the recovery, an FIR No. 109/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Manjakote and the accused has been taken into custody for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a Nowshera police team, led by SHO, Arjun Magotra nabbed a drug-peddler at Lamberi and recovered 4 grams of heroin from his possession. The accused has been identified as Mohd. Imran Chaudhary, son of Chaudhary Shafiq Ahmed, resident of Fatehpur, Rajouri.
A case FIR No. 182/2025 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowshera. Further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the drug network.
