DC Ramban convenes Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Kanga

RAMBAN, Dec 3: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today held an extensive Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Kanga in Block Gandhari.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming participation of locals, reflecting their expectations from the district administration and the commitment of the administration to address public concerns with transparency, urgency and accountability.

The programme was attended by the DDC Member, Executive Engineers and officers from the district administration, who took note of the demands and issued directions on the spot. A large number of public issues were resolved instantly as the Deputy Commissioner instructed concerned departments to take immediate corrective measures.

Addressing the grievances of residents, the Deputy Commissioner directed the BDO Gandhari to expedite the ongoing developmental works and prepare a comprehensive plan for repairing pathways and protection works damaged due to heavy rains, landslides, and flash floods.

He instructed the Executive Engineers of PWD and PMGSY to immediately fill potholes on the Kanga–Gandhari road and other adjoining roads. He further asked to start blacktopping when temperatures improve.

To strengthen veterinary services in the block, the Deputy Commissioner directed the CAHO to depute a paravet in the area. Similarly, the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti was instructed to ensure uninterrupted functioning of all water supply schemes and explore the feasibility of constructing a bore well to meet local drinking water requirements.

For improving power infrastructure, the Executive Engineer JPDCL was directed to provide required electric poles for Harshla and nearby areas. The BMO was asked to organise a weekly medical camp at Gandhri to strengthen healthcare access.

Earlier, the locals raised several demands, seeking pending compensation of land acquired for PMGSY roads, protection works at Tangar, commissioning of X-ray and dental sections at PHC Bhatni, upgradation of schools, augmentation of power and water supply, road improvements including blacktopping at Parnote etc.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Dharamkund and listened to public grievances there. Officers from line departments were present to take immediate action on the issues raised. During the interaction, several flood-affected families sought additional compensation for damages and fostering of rehabilitation measures.

The DC assured them that all genuine grievances would be addressed as per norms.
