JAMMU, Dec 3: DIG Traffic Range Jammu, Dr Mohammad Haseeb Mughal, today reviewed the traffic management related challenges along the busy Nachalana and Hingni areas on the NH-44, where ongoing construction work is affecting the smooth movement of vehicles.
He conducted an on-spot inspection to assess the situation and identify measures needed to maintain two-way traffic flow.
SSP Traffic NHW Ramban Raja Adil Hamid, Project Director NHAI Shuvam Yadav, DySPs Traffic Banihal and Ramban, and other officials accompanied him during the visit.
Officials briefed the DIG that a new flyover is under construction along the Nachalana Nallah and will connect directly with the highway, leading to heavy construction activity in the area.
The DIG said the visit was planned after reports of increasing disruptions to traffic.
He emphasised that ensuring hassle-free movement along this vital corridor is a priority, especially as work on the flyover progresses.
During the spot meeting, the NHAI Project Director assured that adequate men and machinery would be deployed during the connectivity work and that two-way traffic would not be allowed to suffer.
The DIG instructed traffic officers to exercise utmost caution, install proper signages-especially ‘No Overtaking’ boards at vulnerable points-and ensure strict regulation to prevent accidents.
The DIG also inspected other congestion-prone locations along NH-44 and directed officers to make proper deployment of personnel and equipment to ensure smooth traffic flow across all critical stretches of the highway.
