ITF Taekwondo C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Dec 14: The two-day ITF Taekwondo Championship concluded at Rani Talab, Digiana, here today, with over 250 boys and girls participating from across the Union Territory. The event was organized under the leadership of Mukesh Thakur, International Gold Medalist and Pawan Singh Jamwal, General Secretary of AJKTA.
The championship was graced by Kuljeet Singh, SDPO Gandhi Nagar, as chief guest, while Col Dr Amul Gupta and Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO, Ministry of Defence, presided over the function. Other distinguished guests included Ruchika, Principal, Roots Montessori, Gandhi Nagar; Manpreet Grover, Principal, Montana The Little Millennium, Gandhi nagar; Tarsem Sharma, President, Jujutsu Association of J&K; and Dr Hitesh Mahajan, RN Tagore Higher Secondary School, Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
District Jammu clinched the Overall Winner trophy with 38 gold medals, while District Kishtwar was runners-up with 24 golds. Loveleen Kour Babber and Ayaan Parihar were adjudged best female and male fighters, respectively. The medalists will represent J&K UT at the National Championship in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, from December 27-29.
