Drug peddler’s properties worth Rs 1.20 crore attached

UDHAMPUR, Dec 22: Udhampur Police today attached immovable and movable properties worth approximately Rs 1.20 crore belonging to an inter-district drug peddler, under Section 68 (F) of the NDPS Act.
The attached properties, belonging to Wahid Maqbool Mir son of Mohd. Maqbool Mir, of Shilvet, Sumbal, District Bandipora, include a double-storey residential house constructed on 08 Marlas of land, falling under Survey No. 344, Abadi Deh, situated at Shilvet, Sumbal, District Bandipora and two Tipper bearing Registration No. JK19-1061 and JK01N-7343.
During the course of investigation in FIR No. 117/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rehambal, detailed financial scrutiny and backward linkage analysis revealed that the accused had acquired the said properties through proceeds of narcotics trafficking. Based on these findings, the competent authority passed the attachment order today and further legal proceedings under the NDPS Act are underway.
Udhampur Police’s NDPS property attachment tally for the current year has now reached Rs 18.85 crore.
