JAMMU, Dec 24: The Cyber Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE) Jammu today produced chargesheets in the competent court against cyber fraudsters in two separate cases.
A CICE official said in one of the cases registered under FIR number 06/2023, the chargesheet was presented against two accused, Nitisha Jain of Jaipur, Rajasthan and Mithun Sarkar of Chakdaha, West Bengal by DySP Headquarters, Monika Thakur.
In the another case, he said, DySP Albeena Malik, SHO Police Station CICE Jammu, produced the chargesheet against two more individuals-Priyanka of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh and Binita Mura of Nagaon, Assam.
The investigators in both cases conclusively established the commission of offences related to cheating, impersonation, and criminal conspiracy, under sections 419, 420, and 120-B of the IPC and section 66-D of the IT Act, he said.
Besides presentation of the chargesheets, the CICE official said DySP Ashiq Hussain Malik, SHO CICE Srinagar and DySP Albeena Malik, SHO CICE Jammu, successfully recovered Rs 2.29 lakh and over Rs 1.84 lakh in different complaints related to cyber offences.
The recovered amounts have been credited back to the respective victims’ bank accounts, providing significant relief to the defrauded individuals, he said.
