JAMMU, Dec 26: The All J&K OBC Organisations Forum (AJOOF), along with All India Backward Classes Federation, All India OBC Mahasabha, All J&K Sain Samaj Sabha, Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha and All J&K Dhobi Coordination Committee, has urged the Department of Social Welfare to extend the last date for filing online applications for OBC scholarships for the academic year 2025–26.
In a memorandum to the Director, AJOOF highlighted that the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships were restored after a four-year gap. Students are required to obtain income certificates from the Tehsildar, which can take up to 30 days, whereas the current application window is only ten days. This may prevent many students, especially from remote areas with limited internet access, from applying.
The forum requested that the last date be extended at least until January 20, 2026, to ensure all eligible students can benefit from the scholarship scheme.
