Theft case solved; thief arrested, stolen gold, cash recovered

JAMMU: Police on Sunday solved a theft case solved by arresting a thief and recovered stolen cash amounting to Rs 22,000 and gold ornaments from his possession.
As per details, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Janipur by Namneet Kohli, son of Balraj Kohli that on November 11, 2021 some unknown thieves struck his house and decamped with Rs 22,000 cash and 4-5 Tolla gold ornaments. On this, FIR No 119/2021 under sections 454/380 of IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
After this a team of Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspr Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar, after putting in strenuous efforts and with help of CCTV footages of area, rounded up a suspect namely Mohit Gupta, son of Ashwani Gupta, resident of Janipur. During sustained questioning, he confessed his involvement in theft and on his disclosure stolen items were also recovered. Further investigation of the case is going on.
