JAMMU, Dec 30: Celebrating Good Governance Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Jammu and Kashmir today paid rich tribute to the former Prime Minister, remembering his visionary leadership and enduring legacy.
J&K BJP President and MP (Rajya Sabha), Sat Sharma, along with party General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, MLA Ch Vikram Randhawa, Party Secretary Reema Padha, District Prabhari Parduman Singh, and District President Naresh Singh Jasrotia, addressed an Atal Samriti Sammelan of Bahu Assembly Constituency at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Addressing the party leaders, Sat Sharma highlighted the life, values, and monumental contributions of Vajpayee to the nation. He said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not merely a statesman, but a guiding light for Indian democracy, whose politics were rooted in consensus, inclusivity, and national interest. Referring to Sushasan Diwas, observed on Atal’s birth anniversary, he emphasized that good governance, transparency, and people-centric administration were the cornerstones of Vajpayee’s leadership.
Ch. Vikram Randhawa described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a leader of rare integrity, whose decisions were always guided by national unity and long-term vision. He said that Atal’s ideals continue to inspire BJP workers to serve society with dedication and commitment.
Sanjita Dogra also spoke on the occasion while Parduman Singh, Divya Jain, and Nitish Mahajan recited heartfelt poems reflecting the life, thoughts, and timeless ideals of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
A similar programme was organized at the BJP Office, Kachi Chhawni, in the East Assembly constituency.
Addressing party workers and local residents, BJP J&K UT General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul said that Good Governance Day is a reminder for public representatives to work with honesty, efficiency, and compassion, ensuring that every citizen benefits from Central Government schemes and development initiatives. He also highlighted the programmes and policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating that the party remains fully committed to inclusive development, good governance, and public welfare.
MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi, in his address, highlighted the lifelong struggle and remarkable achievements of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, stating that Atal Ji rose from humble beginnings to become one of India’s most respected Prime Ministers through dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the nation.
During the programme, several senior party leaders and workers were present, including Brijeshwar Rana, Chander Mohan Sharma, Ramesh Gupta, Saneet Raina, Ravi Kant, Anil Massom, Rajender Sharma, Ashu Gupta, Parveen Kerni, Adarsh Jathiar, Swati Sharma, Shiv Sharma, Anuradha Sharma, Vijay Gill, and Arun Sethi.
