CLUJ Men’s Football team flagged off for NZ Inter-University tourney

JAMMU, Jan 2: The Men’s Football Team of Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) was flagged off today to participate in the North Zone Inter-University Football Tournament during a brief and dignified ceremony held at University campus.
The team was flagged off by the Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu, Ankur Mhajan, who extended her best wishes to the players, coaches and accompanying officials. The Registrar emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship in competitive sports. She noted that participation in inter-university tournaments plays a vital role in shaping students’ personalities by fostering leadership qualities, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility. Expressing confidence in the contingent, she hoped that the team would deliver an impressive performance and uphold the values and reputation of the University.
Earlier, Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director, Sports and Physical Education, briefed the Registrar about the team’s intensive training schedule, systematic selection process, and overall preparedness for the tournament. He highlighted the consistent efforts of the Department of Sports and Physical Education in identifying and nurturing sporting talent, while ensuring adequate facilities and competitive exposure for student athletes.
The ceremony was also attended by Satpal Singh, Football Coach and Ravi Kumar, Physical Director, SPMR College of Commerce. The presence of coaches and support staff reflected the collective effort behind the team’s preparation. The University administration reiterated its full support and wished the team success in the forthcoming championship.
