SRINAGAR, Jan 4: Police today arrested a drug peddler in Shopian and recovered around 500 grams of charas from his possession.
A police spokesman said that a police team of Police Station Shopian at a checkpoint established at Nadigam Junction, intercepted a suspicious person.
“He has been identified as Gh Mohi-ud-Din Mochi resident of Nadigam. During the search, charas-like substances weighing approximately 495 grams were recovered from his possession,” authorities said.
Accordingly, they said, a case vide FIR No. 02/2026 under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation has been initiated.
