JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 144 COVID cases-125 from Kashmir and 19 from Jammu– while two deaths have been reported in the Valley during the past 24 hours, officials said.
With this, the case tally has risen to 334432 while death toll jumps to 4455-2179 in Jammu and 2276 in Kashmir.
So far a total of 328433 patients have recovered including 115 recoveries in last 24 hours.
There are a total of 1544 active cases in J&K-228 in Jammu and 1316 in Kashmir.
Cumulative Covid vaccine doses given in India cross 113.61 Cr
New Delhi: The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 113.61 crore on Wednesday, the Union health ministry said.
A total of 61,21,626 vaccine doses have been administered till 7 pm. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late night, the ministry said. The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level, the ministry underlined. The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 with healthcare workers (HCWs) getting inoculated in the first phase. The vaccination of frontline workers (FLWs) started from February 2.
The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from March 1 for people over 60 years of age and those aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions. The country launched vaccination for all people aged more than 45 years from April 1. The government then decided to expand its vaccination drive by allowing everyone above 18 to be vaccinated from May 1.
Meanwhile, Ladakh has recorded 29 fresh Covid cases, taking the tally to 21,205, while the active cases in the Union Territory have gone up to 200, officials said.
Ladakh has registered 211 Covid-related deaths — 153 in Leh and 58 in Kargil — since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
Two more patients recuperated from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 20,794, the officials said.
All the fresh cases were reported from Leh, they said.
A total of 316 samples tested negative for Covid in Ladakh.
No new fatality due to coronavirus was reported in the Union Territory in the last 24 hours. The active cases in Ladakh have gone up to 200, including 196 in Leh and four in Kargil district.
