JAMMU, Jan 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the up-gradation of the pay level of Panchayat Secretaries, including Village Level Workers, Multipurpose Workers and Gram Sevikas, from Level 2 to Level 4 with immediate effect.
As per Government Order issued by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, all existing employees working in Level 2 will be placed in Level 4, irrespective of their length of service, while fresh recruitment to the post will also be made in Level 4 henceforth.
The order further states that the special treatment earlier granted to Village Level Workers under the J&K Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1992 has been withdrawn prospectively, and the recruitment rules governing the services will be amended accordingly.
