SAMBA, Jan 14: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan today chaired a meeting with the officers of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department to review the status of e-KYC of ration card holders.
At the outset, Assistant Director FCS&CA, Rahul Gupta briefed the meeting on the category-wise progress of e-KYC in the district.
After a detailed review, the Deputy Commissioner sought 100% completion of e-KYC under all categories, asking the Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) to complete the process within the stipulated time frame. Emphasis was laid on intensified field-level monitoring, saturation of left-out cases and prompt redressal of grievances.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of the Rightful Targeting exercise. She directed the department to complete the process in a time-bound manner, ensuring transparency, accuracy and strict adherence to prescribed guidelines.
Reiterating the importance of timely completion of e-KYC and Rightful Targeting, the Deputy Commissioner stated that these measures are crucial to ensure that benefits under the Public Distribution System (PDS) reach only genuine and deserving beneficiaries.
