JKAKA hands over Kabaddi mats to Kathua, Baramulla

JAMMU, Jan 14: Dr Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, General Secretary of the Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association (JKAKA), in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, handed over high-quality Kabaddi mats to the Kathua District Kabaddi Association today. The mats, supplied by the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), are part of a broader effort to develop the sport across the Union Territory and provide budding players with better training facilities.
In a parallel initiative, JKAKA also distributed Kabaddi mats to the Baramulla Kabaddi Association, highlighting its commitment to promoting the sport region-wide. The event was graced by the Secretary of the J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, as the chief guest, who handed over mats to District Secretary Mohd. Yaqoob along with district members and appreciated the proactive steps of the association.
Nuzhat Gul emphasized the importance of grassroots initiatives for nurturing sporting talent. Dr Gupta urged the Council to extend support to all districts, stating, “Equipping every district with proper infrastructure will uplift Kabaddi and inspire more youth to excel in this indigenous sport.”
Other dignitaries present included Kailsh Langer, Asutosh Sharma, Sagram Singh, Ankush Chib, Vikas Jandail, Lovedeep Singh, Tajinder Singh, Sanjeet Sharma, Sunandan Sharma, Sunil Dutt, Manmeet Singh, Adv. Sadiq Chowdhary and Surider Mohan.
