JAMMU, Jan 16: A one-week refresher training module for police personnel transferred or adjusted from various wings to Jammu Zone concluded today at the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ), Jammu.
A statement said the refresher course was designed to familiarise participants with current policing practices, operational protocols, and updated legal frameworks to ensure their smooth integration into field and office assignments.
Emphasis was laid on enhancing professional competence, ensuring uniformity in procedures, and strengthening preparedness to address contemporary policing challenges.
A total of 71 police personnel, ranging in rank from Inspector to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), took part in the training.
The module covered a wide range of subjects, including new criminal laws, special acts, police station functioning, CCTNS operations, forensic procedures, cybercrime, digital policing, and counter-terrorism training.
The sessions were conducted through interactive lectures, practical demonstrations, and question-answer discussions.
Senior officers and subject-matter experts shared field-based insights and best practices with the participants.
On the conclusion of the programme, the trainees were briefed by Bhim Sen Tuti, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, and Shamsheer Hussain, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu Zone.
They stressed the importance of professionalism, discipline, and strict adherence to established procedures while discharging duties in Jammu Zone.
The refresher training was conducted under the supervision and coordination of a committee of officers of ZPHQ Jammu, including Hemanshu Mahajan, Senior PO; Inspector Mohammad Sadeeq; Inspector Arun Kaul (Course Coordinator); Inspector Sunny Sharma; Inspector Ashish Chowdhary; PSI Ahsan Ahmed; PSI Anil Sharma; and PSI Rakshit Sharma.
Meanwhile, a piping ceremony of Constables promoted to the rank of Selection Grade Constable was also held at ZPHQ Jammu.
The promoted officials were decorated with their new ranks by IGP Jammu in the presence of senior officers and staff.
Congratulating the personnel, IGP Jammu said that promotion brings enhanced responsibility and new professional challenges, and expressed confidence that they would continue to serve with dedication and professionalism.
Those promoted included SgCts Rajan Sharma, Harpreet Singh, Kamal Abroal, Vipan Saini, Sumit Jagtyal, and Jatinder Singh. Senior officers and staff of ZPHQ Jammu were present on the occasion.
