SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Patwari and Chowkidar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000.
CBI identified the two accused as Muneeb Farooq, Patwari, Halqa Soaf Shali, Kokernag, Anantnag and Farooq Ahmad Wani, Chowkidar of the same area.
A statement by the CBI said that they registered the instant case on Thursday against the accused Patwari. It was alleged that the accused public servant demanded bribe of Rs. 30,000 for the demarcation of land of the complainant. The CBI said they laid a trap Friday and caught the accused Patwari alongwith the middleman Chowkidar, another public servant, red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs.15,000 from the complainant.
The accused were arrested, and further investigation is underway.
