JAMMU, Jan 17: A 75-year-old individual died after he was knocked down by a biker at Jagti area here today, officials said.
Chunni Lal son of Mangu of Jagti Thanda area was hit by a two-wheeler outside his home early morning, resulting in severe injuries to the elderly man, they said.
He was immediately taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where the attending doctors declared him dead on arrival, officials said.
According to them, the body of the deceased individual has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination while a case FIR number 10/2026 under sections 281 and 106 BNS has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and further investigation taken up.
The accused biker, identified as Shakeel Ahmed of Bajalta area has also been arrested, officials said.
