ASKPC delegation calls on RRC, discusses issues

JAMMU, Jan 17: A delegation of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) met Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants, Dr Arvind Karwani today and discussed various issues/ problems confronting migrant community at present.
The delegation submitted a detailed memorandum about the pressing issues of the community to him. He assured to reddress certain problems immediately and to forward the other issues to the higher-ups in UT and Central Government.
The delegation was led by ASKPC president, M L Malla and it was comprising of A K Raina , M K Bhat , P K Raina, M K Koul and Sundri Lal.
The meeting, while appreciating the efforts of Relief organization in creating awareness about NAFSA scheme demanded its wider outreach by launching it camps as well as non camp habitations. It demanded that the scheme should benefit camp and non camp residents equally.
The delegation demanded that the posts of migrants prior to their mass exodus in the Valley be filled up among the community members as filling up of the same with non migrants in the Valley is an injustice with the community.
Besides, the delegation demanded job package for displaced youth both in non gazetted and gazetted cadre, grant of amnesty to migrants, enhancement of cash relief, formation of a return and rehabilitation policy, removal of encroachments from Pandits land in Valley and that of their religious places and ensuring their proper protection. It also demanded civic amenities in camps and non camp localities inhabited by Kashmiri migrants.
