NHM employees urge MLAs to raise their issues in Budget Session

JAMMU, Jan 17: National Health Mission (NHM) employees working across Jammu and Kashmir have appealed to the MLAs of the Union Territory to raise their genuine and long-pending issues in the upcoming Assembly/Budget session scheduled to be held in the first week of February in Jammu.
In a statement issued to the media, Faizan A Tramboo, senior vice president of the NHM Employees Association Jammu Division, highlighted that despite more than 20 years of dedicated service in the health sector across the UT, NHM employees continue to be deprived of their basic rights as no formal policy has yet been framed for their regularization.
Dr Hamid Parray, chief spokesperson of the Association, added that apart from regularization, there should be a salary enhancement for all cadres of the post, a proper transfer policy for those serving outside their home districts, enhancement of ex-gratia amounts to the tune of 25 lakh and provision of retirement benefits to the tune of Rs 30 lakh, until a formal policy is framed.
The Association appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Chief Minister and Health Minister to consider the long-pending and genuine demands of NHM employees.
