JAMMU, Jan 18: Dr Hedgewar Smriti Nyas Jammu Kashmir, in partnership with Sudesh Ram Krishan Charitable Trust Jammu, organized a free heart checkup camp at Veer Bhawan, Raghunathpura, Jammu. The camp provided vital cardiac screenings to a large turnout of beneficiaries, promoting awareness and early detection.
Dr Gautam Mengi, Prant Sanghchalak RSS, was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Sushil Sharma, HoD Cardiology at Super Speciality Hospital Jammu, led the medical team comprising of Dr Dineshwar Kapoor and Dr Adarsh Sharma with expert consultations.
Distinguished guests included Surender Mohan (president of Dr Hedgewar Smriti Nyas and Vibhag Sanghchalak RSS), Jagdish Langer (treasurer, Dr Hedgewar Smriti Nyas), Raman Suri (vice president, Narsingh Sewa Kendra) and Ajay Bharti (Zila Sanghchalak RSS).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gautam Mengi stressed on preventive healthcare and said that heart disease is preventable with timely checkups.
Dr Sushil Sharma advised on lifestyle risks and said that simple steps like monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol can avert major issue.
Jagdish Langer outlined the Organization’s ongoing efforts and said that these camps aid early detection, educate on heart health and strengthen community resilience through regular initiatives.
Karunesh Gupta, chairman of Sudesh Ram Krishan Charitable Trust, highlighted their Trust’s initiatives and said that beyond this camp, they run blood donation drives for Thalassemia patients.
Other prominent persons who attended the programme were Ajay Grover, Bhuvneshwar Gupta, Surinder Anand and Dheeraj Gupta.
