Rajouri woman rescued from plastic bag reveals horror-tale

RAJOURI, Jan 19: Shocking details have surfaced in the case of a woman found tied and packed in a plastic bag in Tandwal area near Rajouri, after the victim narrated her harrowing ordeal to the police.
The victim, identified as Azeem Akhter, wife of Sabar Hussain, a resident of Kakora village in nManjakote and presently residing in Rajouri, stated that she was travelling to Rajouri for a medical check-up. She boarded an auto-rickshaw from Bela Bridge, where shortly after, another person also boarded the auto.
She further narrated that the auto-rickshaw driver suddenly diverted the vehicle towards the Old Bus Stand, raising her suspicion. When she raised a hue and cry, the accused persons allegedly assaulted her and forcibly closed her mouth.
She further revealed that upon reaching the bus stand, another vehicle escorted the auto-rickshaw. This second vehicle reportedly had a woman and another accomplice on board, and the female accomplice later joined the auto-rickshaw driver.
The victim alleged that a substance was placed near her nose, following which she lost consciousness. When she was not in senses, her hands and legs were tied, and she was packed in a large plastic bag before being dumped at an isolated location in the Tandwal area.
She revealed that when she regained consciousness, she found herself helpless and trapped in a bag. She tried to puncture the bag. Some locals after hearing her cries reached there and opened the bag and freed her. They called police as well and rescued her.
Azeem Akhter told that the accused decamped with Rs 50,000 in cash, withdrawn from an ATM, along with her some gold jewellery. She also confirmed that a female accomplice played an active role in the crime.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case under FIR No. 33 at Police Station Rajouri Rajouri and initiated an in-depth investigation. A manhunt has been launched to trace the auto-rickshaw driver and other accused involved.
SSP Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar said that the case has been taken up on top priority and is being investigated on a fast-track basis. He said that Police is working round the clock to trace the accused.
The SSP further stated that all kinds of inputs are being extensively used to identify and apprehend the culprits. He assured that no one involved in the heinous crime will be spared, adding that strict legal action will be taken against all those found guilty. He reiterated that all possible angles are being examined.
