JAMMU, Jan 19: The All J&K +2 Lecturers’ Forum, Jammu & Kashmir, convened its monthly meeting under the chairmanship of R S Salathia, wherein the Forum expressed strong resentment and deep anguish over the criminal neglect on the issue of regularisation of Incharge +2 Lecturers by successive administrations.
The Forum Chairman RS Salathia, Younous Gurezi, President Kashmir Division & Pardeep Singh said that as per standing service norms and well-established administrative practice, Incharge Lecturers are required to be regularised within six months of their placement. “Shockingly, despite years having passed, the Government has chosen to remain a mute spectator, pushing hundreds of lecturers into career stagnation, financial loss, and mental agony. Many affected lecturers have retired without justice, some have died waiting for regularisation, while a large number are set to retire shortly, making the delay irreversible and unforgivable,’ they said.
The deliberate non-implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP) was also termed an act of institutional discrimination against +2 lecturers, undermining their morale and directly impacting academic standards.
Pardeep Koul, District President Kishtwar. Surinder Madhyal, District President Kishtwar, Showkat Hussain Zarger and Bal Krishan Tickoo held the Government accountable and urged the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Education Minister, Sakina Itoo, and the Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department Ram NiwasSharma, to immediately break the bureaucratic inertia and issue clear, time-bound orders in the interest of justice.
Ghar Singh, General Secretary held proceedings of the meet. Others who spoke in the meet include Javed Iqbal, Sushma Thakur, Kuldeep Kumar, Gharo Devi, Shiwkat Hussain, Amarjeet Kotwal, Suresh Mattoo and othersc.
The Forum warned that Government failure to act on their demand will leave it with no option other than to launch a sustained legal and democratic struggle.
