JAMMU, Jan 23: The 1st Kangaroo Hockey Cup 2026 commenced at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, Jammu, organized by MRS Hockey Club in collaboration with MBS Hockey Club, Simbal Camp, under the aegis of Hockey J&K. The three-day tournament, held from January 23-25, features competitive matches across U-14 and U-17 categories.
In the opening U-14 match, GNN and SHB drew, with GNN winning 2-1 in the shootout. In U-17 matches, BBSB Poonch defeated GNN Jammu by 4-2, while MBS Simbal Camp beat Khalsa Blue Club by 4-0.
The dignitaries during the matches were Dr Taran Singh, General Secretary Hockey J&K, with Dr Ajay Sharma (SP Jammu South), Surjeet Singh and Balvinder Singh (DGPC Jammu). Rajinder Koul, Rajinder Singh (Neethu), Tanveer Singh (Australia), Balkaran Singh, Rajinder Singh, Gurkirat Singh, Ekjot Singh and Iqbal Singh were also present to witness the action. Match officials included Daljeet Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Jasprit Singh and others.
