Delegation meets Director Agriculture

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 27: A delegation of All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF) here today called on Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta and submitted him a memorandum of demands seeking resolution of the long-pending issue of non-conduct of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).
The delegation apprised the Director about their long-pending service-related demands and the issue of prolonged career stagnation.
The Director Agriculture assured the delegation that the issues would be taken up with the higher authorities for appropriate consideration.
The delegation highlighted that the DPC has not been convened for nearly 35 years leading to prolonged career stagnation.
It was informed that officers are retiring in the same grade in which they entered the service despite rendering more than three decades of regular service which is contrary to the established norm of holding DPCs annually.
The memorandum noted that both Promotee Officers and Direct Recruit (PSC) Officers have unanimously resolved to set aside internal differences and work collectively in a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding to achieve a common objective.
A handout stated that a Joint Coordination Committee comprising 13 office bearers and 10 executive members has been formally constituted under the banner of AJKAOWF to liaise with the Administrative Department and other concerned authorities to expedite the DPC process and resolve all related pending matters.
The Joint Coordination Committee comprises Ashwani Sharma, as chairman; Sanjay Anand, vice chairman; Aman Jyoti Sharma, convenor; Rajesh Kumar, president; Rahul Sawhney, vice president; Darmesh Vaid, senior vice president; Tilak Raj Sharma, general secretary; Kewal Krishan, coordinator; Vikas Padha, treasurer; Nirmal Parkash, press and publicity secretary; Deepak Singh, organising secretary; Parmodh Kumar and Aadil Rashid, joint secretaries, along with executive members.
