RBI organises THM for MSME entrepreneurs of IGC

JAMMU, Jan 28: A Town Hall Meeting (THM) for MSME Entrepreneurs of Industrial Growth Centre, organised by Reserve Bank of India was held here today.
The event was graced by Ayushi Sudan, deputy commissioner, Samba, as the special guest, in the presence of Chandrashekhar Azad, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Jammu.
The meeting was attended by 150 MSME entrepreneurs.
In his inaugural address, RBI, Regional Director, while welcoming the participants, stated that the objective behind conduct of meeting is to create awareness of banking facilities amongst the entrepreneurs in these clusters, link the unbanked entrepreneurs to the formal banking system and create a platform for a two-way communication amongst the stakeholders.
He shared that this forum also serves as a medium for facilitating credit linkage and disseminating the guidelines issued by RBI pertaining to MSME sector.
DC, Samba, in her address, highlighted the role of MSMEs in nation building and underscored the importance of MSME sector in providing employment opportunities in the region.
She shared that District Samba has achieved the targets set under Annual Credit Plans in the past, indicating robust credit demand and sufficient credit flow in the region.
The DC further encouraged MSME entrepreneurs to get enrolled under prevalent government initiatives for MSMEs such as PMEGP and Mission Yuva etc.
Among others who attended the meeting included Rajesh Kumar, State Director, KVIC, Anudeep Kour, Financial Advisor, Department of Industries & Commerce, UT of J&K; officials from MSME-Development & Facilitation Office, Jammu; GM, J&K Bank Ltd; GM, J&K Grameen Bank; AGM, SBI; AGM, Canara Bank; senior officials from HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank and representatives from Industry Associations viz., Bari Brahmana Industries Association and Association of Industries – Industrial Growth Centre, Samba.
