Rohit Shastri meets Div Com, discusses preservation and promotion of Sanskrit

JAMMU, Feb 2: With the objective of preserving, promoting and widely propagating the Sanskrit language, Mahant Rohit Shastri, president of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic sansthan Trust, met with Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, here today.
During the meeting, discussion was held on the development, revival and re-establishment of the significance of Devavani Sanskrit in society.
Shastri briefed the Divisional Commissioner in detail about the various Sanskrit education programs run by the Trust, Vedic schools (pathshalas), publication of religious and Vedic literature and cultural and social awareness campaigns.
He stated that the Trust has been playing an active and continuous role for many years in the preservation and promotion of the Sanskrit language and Vedic traditions.
Ramesh Kumar appreciated the efforts being made by the Trust and described Sanskrit as the soul of India’s cultural, spiritual and intellectual heritage.
He assured that the administration would extend all possible support in this direction and encourage initiatives related to the development of Sanskrit.
Shastri also presented the Trust’s annual magazine Kartavya Marg to the Divisional Commissioner.
On this occasion, R K Chhibber, Trustee of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Institute Trust, was also present.
