SRINAGAR, Feb 2: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah today asked the party’s Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly to strongly raise issues of public concern in Parliament and the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
He said NC representatives have a responsibility to act as the voice of the people and highlight their genuine problems on every appropriate platform.
Dr Farooq said matters related to unemployment, rising prices, inflation, power and water shortages, infrastructure, education and healthcare should be raised forcefully, along with the protection of democratic and constitutional rights.
He also stressed the need to ensure accountability and transparency in governance.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment to safeguarding the interests and dignity of the people, he said the National Conference will continue to pursue democratic means for justice and equitable development.
He further asked party legislators to stay connected with people at the grassroots level and reflect their concerns sincerely in legislative forums.
