JAMMU: An organizing committee was formed including Sanskrit scholars and officials to celebrate the Foundation Day ceremony of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, in a grand manner.
Pertinent to mention here that Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan is located in Vishwasthali city of Kathua district of Jammu & Kashmir, where well-known Sanskrit scholar Dr Pandit Uttam Chand Shastri Pathak awakened light for Sanskrit and culture. He used to teach Gita, Vishnu Sahasranama and simple Sanskrit on weekly basis, which awakened love for Sanskrit among people.
Shastri, who led a devoted life to Sanskrit, had established Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Trust in 2003 and afterwards gave it form of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, which is the oldest University of India, Sampurnanand Sanskrit Sansthan. The university has got affiliation from Varanasi. The institute was formally inaugurated on auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti on 15th January, 2020.
The organizing committee of the institute decided to celebrate the foundation day and annual festival of the institute in a grand manner, in which emphasis will be given to invite Sanskrit scholars from across the country to create a cultural atmosphere through public awareness.
In this meeting, Vice Chancellor SKUAST, Prof J P Sharma said that at present, with such developments for promotion and development of Sanskrit language, it appears as if J&K is once again entering into a Vedic era. On the occasion, Chief Security Director of Lieutenant Governor, Shakti Kumar Pathak, emphasized on making Sanskrit the language of the people.
Director of Rashtriya Sanskrit University Jammu campus Prof Madan Mohan Jha said that today again there is a need to revive debate tradition of Kashi and Kashmir.
Mahant Rohit Shastri, President SKJAVS Trust honoured scholars. Sant Shri Hareram Das Ji Maharaj said that culture can be protected only through Sanskrit.
On the occasion, Dr Vishwa Gupta, Prabodh Sharma, Sharad Chandra Sharma, Rakesh Gandotra, Dr Sanjay Sharma, Chandra Shekhar were also present. Principal of institute, Acharya Abhishek Kumar Upadhyay, in his seed statement, threw light on annual activities of the institute and highlighted why there is a need for holding big events like Sanskrit conference.
