LEH: ICAR-CAZRI Regional Research Station, Leh celebrated World Science Day for Peace and Development-2021 during International Week of Science and Peace with a joint lecture cum discourse in the theme area ‘Climate Ready Communities for Mountain Ecosystems-A Citizen Charter’ at Stakna Campus here on Thursday.
Founder Director of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives (HIAL) and innovator Sonam Wangchuk and Co-Founder, HIAL, Gitanjali JB were the guests who spoke in depth about decision matrix of individuals for the protection cum sovereignty of mountain ecosystem of Ladakh Himalayan landscape in every possible aspect and what could be the simplistic way of life style which can be a self-less service from the citizens towards their nature which is protecting them since the inception of civilization in this landscape. .
Head of ICAR-CAZRI RRS, Leh, Dr. Dipankar Saha briefed about the history of innovations in all the fields of sciences and technology which necessarily need to be studied by the students to make them better citizens of future in converging ancient scholars’ understanding with neo-perspective.
Dignitaries from various institutes including students, teacher participants from Kendriya Vidyalaya Leh and staff members from ICAR-CAZRI RRS, Leh.
ARS Scientist Changchuk Lamo and and STO Jigmat Stanzin, while expressing gratitude to the guests, proposed about a future collaborative approach in overlapping areas of delivery in terms of science and technology deliverables for the holistic development of cold arid mountain region.
