KATHUA, Feb 5: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of Education sector works.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the ongoing works including asset creation works at Girls High School Billawar, GHSS Manhanpur, GHSS Macchedi and GHSS Kathera.
He directed the concerned XEN PWD (R&B) Division to ensure removal of bottlenecks besides mobilising men and machinery to meet work timelines.
Issues relating to school buildings at GHSS Kharote and GMS Chak Sheikhan were also reviewed, with directions to the concerned departments for removing bottlenecks, if any.
Reviewing the status of works proposed for 2025–26, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the construction of girls’ toilets, building works at GHSS Sanangats and GHSS Roulka, and the remodeling of GHSS Hiranagar.
He directed the Executive Engineers to complete ongoing works under Samagra Shiksha and UT Capex within the stipulated timelines.
The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed the allotment of a new building for the Deputy CEO Office-Billawar and modernization works at GHSS Nagrota Gujroo.
The Zonal Education Officers were asked to closely monitor the schools under their jurisdiction and ensure smooth academic functioning.
