National seminar on “Bhartiya Bodh” organized at GCOE

JAMMU, Feb 5: With the objective of reconnecting contemporary education with India’s rich civilizational wisdom and indigenous knowledge traditions, two days national seminar on “Bhartiya Bodh : Reviving Indian Knowledge System for Modern Education” was held here today.
The seminar was organized by IQAC of Government College of Education (GCOE), in collaboration with Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan (VBUSS), J&K and Ladakh.
The inaugural session was graced by the chief guest, Prof K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu.
He highlighted the significance of integrating Bharatiya Gyan Parampara and the transformative vision of NEP 2020 in contemporary pedagogy.
Prof (Dr) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, was the guest of honour.
The event was addressed by Keynote Speaker Prof Raj Sharan Shahi, Dean and Head, Department of Education, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
The Seminar commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by warm welcome address by Dr Jyoti Parihar, Principal, Government College of Education, Jammu setting the tone for thoughtful academic engagement.
Dr Mohd Zubair Kales, Dean, School of Teacher Education, Cluster University of Jammu acknowledged the efforts of the organizing committee, dignitaries and all participants.
Prof J N Baliya, Professor, Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu emphasized upon the necessity of bringing back Bharatiyata in Education system of India through culturally rooted pedagogical practices.
The seminar was convened by Dr Shalini Rana, Dr Rajinder Kour and Dr Rakesh Bharti (GCOE) respectively, whose efforts ensured the smooth organization and scholarly rigor of the event.
Dignitaries, Ravender Kumar Tickoo, (Nodal Principal, Jammu Division Colleges), Sourav Pargal(CA), J&K ICAI Jammu, Ankur Mahajan, Registrar CLUJ, Prof Rajeev Rattan (Professor and Head, Department of Education, University of Jammu), Prof Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director JKSCERT, Prof Subash Mishra (BBAU, Luknow), Prof Bharat (Children University, Gujrat), Deans and Principals of Constituent Colleges, CLUJ) also graced the event with their esteemed presence.
Earlier, an Abstract Book comprising selected scholarly contributions was also launched by dignitaries.
The event was concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr Balwan Singh.
