Stray dog attacks leave five injured

RAJOURI, Feb 8: Rajouri town witnessed a spate of stray dog attacks today, leaving at least five people injured and heightening public concern over the growing menace of roaming dogs in residential areas.
According to reports, a stray dog created panic in Ward Number 13 of the Tandwal Dassal area, where it attacked three persons in quick succession. Mohammad Latif (45) was bitten on his right leg around 11:00 am, followed shortly by Ravi Naresh (55), who also sustained a bite injury on his right leg. A woman was also injured in the same incident.
In a separate case, a 10-year-old girl from the Gambhir area suffered a deep bite injury on her left thigh after being attacked by a stray dog around 5 pm. Two other persons were reportedly bitten by stray dogs at different locations in the town.
All injured persons were rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for treatment. Medical Superintendent, GMC Rajouri, Dr Shamim Ch, confirmed that all the victims are in stable condition.
