NEW DELHI, Feb 9: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday handed over financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of four Delhi residents who lost their lives in the tragic Goa nightclub fire incident, officials said.
The fire broke out on December 6 at the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub in Arpora, Goa, claiming the lives of four members of the same family from Sadatpur Extension in Delhi. The deceased were identified as businessman Vinod Kumar (42), Anita Joshi (42), Saroj Joshi (41) and Kamla Joshi (44).
At a programme held at the Delhi Secretariat, the Chief Minister met the bereaved family and handed over a total assistance amount of Rs 40 lakh to Bhavana Joshi and other family members.
Cabinet Minister and Karawal Nagar MLA Kapil Mishra was also present on the occasion.

“Chief Minister Rekha Gupta personally met the family, expressed her deep condolences, assured all possible support from the Delhi Government, and handed over the total assistance amount of Rs 40 lakh,” Mishra said.
After receiving the financial assistance, Bhavana Joshi said the tragic incident had completely changed her life as she lost four members of her family in an unfortunate incident, thus leaving the responsibility of three elderly people and four children on her shoulders.
