Sunil Sharma snubbed the protesting NC MLAs leading to heated exchange of words between the BJP and ruling party members thus repeatedly plunging the House into pandemonium.
The NC members were vociferously raising objections over certain remarks made by Sunil Sharma, who mocked at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while listing benefits of abrogation of Article 370.
Shouting at agitating ruling party legislators and asking them to sit quietly, Sunil Sharma warned not to force him for exposing their alleged backdoor deals during the recently held Rajya Sabha elections for J&K seats.
“Rajya Sabha elections have recently concluded and I know all who did what for what. Don’t force me to open my mouth and expose you,” Sunil warned.
This led to ruckus in the House. Minister for Youth and Sports, Satish Sharma, Nazir Gurezi and some other NC MLAs were seen standing from their respective seats and asking the LoP to disclose the names he was referring to.
“He (Sunil Sharma) is misleading the House. This man kept moving the whole night before the day of election and managed the number,” said Satish Sharma.
The House plunged into pandemonium once again after Sunil Sharma alleged that a law maker in the House had virtually challenged Constitution of India by comparing it with the Constitution of United States of America.
Taking strong objection to the allegation, NC MLAs claimed that no member of the House ever challenged Constitution of India. LoP was joined by Vikram Randhawa, R S Pathania, Rajeev Jasrotia and other BJP MLA, who were seen trading charges with NC members.
Amid the din, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary also stood up from his seat and sought intervention of the Speaker over the remark made by Sunil Sharma.
“The Leader of Opposition has levelled a very serious allegation stating that a member of the House disrespected Constitution of India. Let him disclose the name of that member,” said the Deputy CM.
“Yeh Bahut Bari Baat Hai (It is a big issue). Kindly issue direction for disclosing name of that member,” he added.
The ruckus continued amid trading of charging between NC and BJP MLAs even as the Speaker repeatedly sought to pacify both the sides.
Charging the Omar Abdullah Government with failure to fulfil its election promises and trying to take credit for the Central schemes in his budget speech, Sunil Sharma claimed that abrogation of Article 370 led to sea change in the Jammu and Kashmir.
“We have made this House triangular. When we ask any question, Government starts seeking reply from the Centre and shift responsibility to Delhi. You have elected MPs in Parliament. Let they speak there. Have the people of J&K elected you for shifting the responsibility?” he said
“However, when it comes to taking credit, you come forward and claim all central schemes as your own. What is your contribution?” he added.
Justifying abrogation of Article 370, Sunil Sharma mocked at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for using pure Hindi words in his budget speech and described it as post abrogation affect.
“Those who said that not even an inch of land will be given to Amarnath Yatra, are now making special provision for improving facilities for the Amarnath pilgrims. This has become possible only after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019,” LoP said.
Highlighting other positive changes after abrogation of article 370, Sunil Sharma said that the terror victims, who had been ignored by the successive State Governments, were provided jobs. “Even a MLA recommended names of such 13 families for jobs, he added.
As the NC MLAs demanded disclosure of the name of that MLA Sunil Sharma said that the same was not possible earlier because the said legislator had to appease separatists. He thanked Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for providing Government jobs to terror victims.
Sunil Sharma also raised the issues of employment and regularization of daily wagers.
