2 drug peddlers arrested, psychotropic substances recovered

SRINAGAR: Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs, Police on Monday arrested two drug peddlers in Budgam & Bandipora and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
In Budgam, officers from Police Post Narbal at a checkpoint near Jamia Masjid Narbal intercepted a person who was moving in a suspicious manner. He was identified as Khazer Mohd Sheikh, son of Sanahual Sheikh, resident of Bazar Mohalla Narbal. During checking, officers were able to recover 172 gm Charas from his possession. He was arrested and shifted to police station where he remained in custody.
Similarly in Bandipora, a police party of Police Post Aloosa under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora at a checkpoint established at Quilmuqam Aloosa intercepted a person identified as Fida Hussain Mir, son of Mohammad Shaban Mir resident of Ward-6, Bandipora. During checking, officers recovered 300 Proxywel Spos tablets from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remained in custody. Preliminary investigation revealed that the recovered drugs were meant to be supplied to the youth. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law were registered at respective Police Stations and investigations started.
