Market checking team realises Rs 26,00 fine from erring traders

RAMBAN: A market checking squad constituted by Tehsildar, comprising officers of various enforcement agencies, on Monday conducted market checking in Batote.
Naib Tehsildar, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Designated Officer Food Safety, Inspector legal Metrology, Police and other concerned officers checked various business establishments in main market. The team also sensitised shopkeepers, especially milk & milk product sellers, meat & chicken sellers, vegetable & fruit vendors about rules and regulations. The checking squad also recovered a fine of Rs 2,600 from erring traders and destroyed 1 quintal of sub-standard vegetables.
The officers instructed shopkeepers to display rate list and sell commodities on the rates fixed by Department/Associations. Owners of Food Joints and Restaurants were instructed to use only commercial LPG cylinders.
People were also advised to approach the Department in case of any complaint. The checking squad also checked implementation of COVID SoPs especially in public places.
