JAMMU, Feb 12: To support meritorious and financially disadvantaged students, Chandigarh University (CU) today announced to provide scholarships worth Rs 250 crore through its admission-cum-scholarship entrance exam, Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test 2026 (CUCET 2026),CUCET 2025 is a gateway to world-class education and a lifeline for deserving students who lack the means to pursue their academic goal.This was informed by the Advisor to Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Prof (Dr) RS Bawa in a Press Conference, held here today.Sharing placement details of Chandigarh University students from Jammu and Kashmir, Prof Bawa said, “In the past two years, 406 students from Jammu and Kashmir have received attractive job offers from top multinational companies. Of these, 247 students from Jammu secured job offers from leading national and international companies during the same period.”
He said, “Dhruv Mahajan, a Hotel and Hospitality Management student of CU from Jammu, received job offers from Oberoi Hotel and Postcard Hotel, Goa. A native of Jammu, Rupali Sharma who studied Journalism and Mass Communication at Chandigarh University, is working as a news anchor at JK Media Private Limited. Meenakshi Bakshi, an MBA student from Jammu secured a job offer from Icarus 3D.”Prof Bawa said, “Since, the establishment of Chandigarh University, Mohali campus in 2012 as many as 1.30 lakh students from 28 states and 8 union territories of India and many students from foreign countries have also availed the scholarships offered by CU.He said, “In the current academic year 2025-26, as many as 1,353 students from Jammu and Kashmir availed scholarship benefits out of which 638 students were given scholarship through CUCET and 715 through other scholarship schemes.”Chandigarh University has earmarked Rs 250 crore in scholarships for 2026 – Rs 200 crore for students at the Mohali campus and Rs 50 crore for recently introduced AI-augmented Chandigarh University Lucknow campus.Students can easily apply for CUCET 2025 through the university’s portal (https://www.cuchd.in/scholarship/)
